Benjamin Shapiro MD
Chief Medical Officer of Stubbeman TMS
Dr. Shapiro is a dedicated psychiatrist whose career bridges science, medicine, and the human condition. After studying Neurobiology at Cornell University, he went on to earn his medical degree and complete advanced training in Public Health, Psychiatry, and Geriatric Psychiatry at UCLA.
Brett Shurman MD
Chief Executive Officer of Stubbeman TMS
Dr. Shurman is a dedicated psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical expertise specializing in treatment-resistant conditions. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Yale University and obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Moving to the West Coast, he completed his residency at UCLA.
Jennifer E. Kim, PMHNP-BC
Nurse Practitioner
Jennifer is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with clinical TMS certification. She holds an MSN from Vanderbilt University, a BSN from California State University, East Bay, and a BA in Public Health from UC Berkeley. With 15 years of RN experience across diverse adult and geriatric settings, as well as work in quality management for innovative healthcare programs.
Gia Buenviaje
Lead TMS Technician
Gia earned her Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from UC Santa Barbara. She is a passionate advocate for mental health and aspires to obtain her MD in Pediatric Neurology. During her free time, she loves hiking with friends and going to the beach.
Nushrat Esha
TMS Technician
Esha earned a bachelors in Neuroscience and a minor in global health at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is passionate about providing equitable care for all and aspires to be a future neurologist. During her free time, she enjoys visiting scenic areas, attending concerts, and learning a new subject.
Ariel Seo
TMS Technician
Ariel earned her Bachelor of Science in cognitive science with specialization in computing from UCLA. She is interested in the application of neuroimaging and neuromodulation for the developing treatments of neurological and psychiatric disorders. In the future, she hopes to pursue a PhD in neuropsychology.
Katie Lojko
TMS Technician
Katie earned a B.S. in Neuroscience with a minor in chemistry from Florida State University. She is interested in alternative therapies for treatment-resistant mental health disorders and is exploring the field before pursuing an advanced degree. In her free time, she enjoys visiting National Parks, going to the beach, and trying new sports.
JILLIAN PEREZ
Administrative Assistant
Jillian joined the Stubbeman TMS team in 2017 as an administrative assistant. Aside from administrative tasks, her areas of focus and expertise include managing, scheduling, billing and problem-solving. She is a graduate of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in the Philippines, where she majored in Human Resource Management and was also a dean’s lister. Before working at Stubbeman TMS, Jillian was working in a hospice company which exposed her to the medical and healthcare field. This peaked her passion to work with patients who need help and sincere care. When she’s not busy, you can always find her in cozy cafes or the dog beach looking for inspiration for creative writing. She finished her first book and hopes to have it published one day.
RAYA KHAIRKHAH
Administrative Director
Raya is responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA. Raya keeps our practice running smoothly and she ensures each patient’s needs are met.
